Lawyers for Human Rights have done extensive work in its various programmes during 2012, including the Refugee and Migrant Rights Programme, Strategic Litigation Unit, Land and Housing Programme and Environmental Rights Programme.
Lawyers for Human Rights is running a crowdfunding campaign for stateless children.
Some vulnerable children are required to do DNA tests to get birth certificates, but it costs R1400 - R2100.
Abandoned & orphaned stateless children are required to pay R1350 to apply for a visa allowing them to go to school.
